[features] MyElectronics have been developing rack mounted solutions for many years and originally manufactured this chassis for a customer who required a short; high-quality chassis made from aluminium. Originally MyElectronics had no plans to bring this chassis to the retail market; but after it appeared on a Jeff Geerling YouTube video; viewers wanted to know where they could purchase the chassis from because there is no other solution like it currently available. MyElectronics decided to develop the chassis even further to make it a retail product. Back to front! A downside to a rack mounted chassis is accessing the rear ports of the system. To address this the chassis supports optional extension cables that bring up to four rear ports to the front of the chassis. This is done by purchasing your required cable and routing it through the rear of the PC onto one of the front connector inserts. This means you could have easy access to a HDMI; USB; LAN or Audio ports. You can find all available cables here. Exploded front viewExploded rear view Compatibility Motherboard The chassis accommodates Mini-ITX motherboards only. These motherboards are extremely feature rich; especially when you consider their size. All of them feature built-in Wi-Fi; support for up to 64GB RAM and most of them have multiple M.2 ports. CPU Cooler and Processor Due to the limited height of the chassis we recommend coolers no taller than 70mm. This will give ample room for air to flow around the CPU socket. Due to this heigh restriction we also recommend opting for a processor with a base TDP of 65W; we have Intel and AMD CPUs available.
Power Supply Only small form factor (SFX or SFX-L) power supplies can be used in the chassis. The 'L' in the SFX-L version means the power supply is slightly longer than a standard SFX PSU. We have a number of SFX PSUs available here. Other Considerations Expansion Card -
All Mini-ITX motherboard has one available PCIe slot; this can be used for a graphics card or any other expansion card. The card must be low profile compatible and not exceed 173mm in length.Chassis fans -
The chassis supports up to three 80mm fans. Two are for intake and other acts as an exhaust fan.Data drives -
There is space for either five 2.5' drives or a single 3.5' drive. Considering all of the Mini-ITX boards have a total over four SATA ports then the only way to install a fifth drive would be to use a low profile SATA expansion card in the PCIe slot. Rendered image showing installed components
