Description
What This Product Does
The MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber to 100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. Adopting WDM technology, MC111CS takes only one fiber cable to transmit and receive data, which will save half cabling cost for you. Designed under IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, the MC111CS is designed for use with single-mode fiber cable utilizing the SC-Type connector. The MC111CS supports longwave (LX) laser specification at a full wire speed forwarding rate. It works at 1550nm on transferring data and at 1310nm on receiving data. So the other end device to cooperate with the MC111CS should work at 1310nm on transferring data and at 1550nm on receiving data. Another TP-LINK-s media converter MC112CS is just one of the examples to cooperate with MC111CS.
Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a stand alone device (no chassis required) or with TP-LINK-s 19-- system chassis, Auto MDI/MDI-X for TX port, Auto negotiation of duplex mode on TX port, and front panel status LEDs. The MC111CS will transmit at extended fiber optic distances utilizing single-mode fiber up to 20 kilometers.
Specs
Network
Maximum data transfer rate
The maximum speed with which data can be transmitted from one device to another.
00 Mbit/s
Networking standards
The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g.
IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x
Ethernet interface type
Gigabit Ethernet
Ethernet LAN data rates
The different speed levels of the Ethernet LAN connection.
00 Mbit/s
Fiber ethernet cabling technology
0BASE-FX
Auto MDI/MDI-X
A Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) describes the interface (both physical and electrical) in a computer network from a physical layer implementation to the physical medium used to carry the transmission. Ethernet over twisted pair also defines a medium dependent interface crossover (MDIX) interface. Auto-MDIX ports on newer network interfaces detect if the connection would require a crossover, and automatically chooses the MDI or MDIX configuration to properly match the other end of the link.
Cable types supported
Cat3, Cat4, Cat5, Cat5e
Performance
Maximum transfer distance
The greatest distance over which the data/signal can be transferred.
000 m
Wavelength
The distance over which a wave repeats itself. The wavelength determines the characteristics of the wave e.g. red light has a different wavelength to blue light.
50 nm
Fiber mode structure
Single-mode
Features
Internal
The product is built in.
LED indicators
Activity, Power
Product colour
The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white.
Black
Ports & interfaces
Connectivity technology
The technology that enables connectivity of the device, e.g. wired or wireless.
Wired
Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports
Number of Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports allow a computer to connect to the ethernet.
1
Fiber ports quantity
The number of sockets (ports) for fibers (cables).
1
Fiber optic connector
This terminates the end of an optical fiber, and enables quicker connection and disconnection than splicing. The connectors mechanically couple and align the cores of fibers so light can pass. Better connectors lose very little light due to reflection or misalignment of the fibers. In all there have been about 100 types of optic fiber connectors produced.
SC
Power
Power consumption (max)
The maximum amount of power used by the device.
1.23 W
Weight & dimensions
Width
The measurement or extent of something from side to side.
94.5 mm
Depth
The distance from the front to the back of something.
73 mm
Height
The measurement of the product from head to foot or from base to top.
27 mm
